Dividends are here!
I am pleased to announce that StokBlogs now supports dividends. You should start noticing dividend transactions in your portfolio.
Due to technological limitations, however, special dividends and annual dividends (dividends paid once a year rather than every quarter) will still need to be manually entered. Please contact if this applies to you.
As well, please report any discrepancies you find with dividends in general. StokBlogs is a community-driven site and we rely heavily on your feedback. Thank you all and happy investing!

Flaw in dividend accounting
Theo,
Let me point out a little flaw in your accounting for dividends. I noticed that I got credit for a dividend from IEF that I didn't deserve. The way the system is today, it appears that if a user buys a stock AFTER the ex-dividend date but ON or BEFORE the dividend payment date, he still receives the dividend. You should somehow monitor the ex-dividend dates.

RE: Flaw in dividend accounting
You are right! I will fix that to credit dividends only if the investor owns the stock on the ex-dividend date.
thanks,

CALC
Theo-
One of my holdings, CALC, paid a $12.50 per share special dividend on 9/28 and it doesn't appear my portfolio reflects it.

RE: CALC
Hi Brian,
Problem fixed. It still shows a loss for CALC, but the cash has been deposited to your account. I need to change the software to display total return in the portfolio.

Dividends for SOM-UN.TO (Canadian income trust) are not being credited.
the dividends are not shown on Y! finance. but if you go
here
on TSX.com you can see that it pays $0.60/year. It's paid out monthly at $0.05/share.

RE: dividends
Fixed. If other users have Income Trusts not crediting their dividends, please send me an email. Indeed it seems Yahoo doesn't feed that information properly. Until I find an automated way of fixing this, I will have to enter these transactions manually.
sorry about any inconvenience,
