Boy do I love the Nasdaq website. It's so much easier to steal ideas than digging through SEC filings. If you have not already guessed, I'm basing my portfolio on the ideas of my favorite fund managers. I will also do some of my own stock picking but only when I think something is extremely cheap. Here's a sampling of my stocks, which varying degrees of detail:
COP
1. Berkshire bought $505 million during Q1, their largest purchase for the quarter.
2. Davis Selected Advisors bought $633 million during Q1, their largest purchase for the quarter.
3. Dreman Value Management bought $100 million during Q1, their second largest purchase for the quarter. COP is also their second largest holding overall and they are continuing to add.
MSFT
1. Davis Selected Advisors bought $492 million during Q1, their third largest purchase for the quarter, since then the stock has fallen and is an even better deal.
2. Appaloosa Management bought $205 million during Q1, this is about 20% of their assets. I read an interview with David Tepper who said this is a once in a lifetime chance to own the stock at these prices. His top holding are highly focused in Microsoft, Cisco and Intel that he recently bought.
DELL
1. Longleaf Partners bought $236 million during Q1, their second largest purchase for the quarter. They also bought another $700 million in the Q4 of 2005. Prices are now substantially lower than when Longleaf was originally building their position.
2. Davis Selected Partners bought $600 million during Q4 2005, which was their largest purchase of the quarter.
MHK - Fairholme bought a good chunk Q1.
KSWS - Third Ave bought Q1.
HEW - Longtime favorite of Ariel Capital Management at very cheap prices now.
USMO - Fairholme owns 10% of this stock at prices much higher.
